Assistant Controller Job Opening in New York, New york - GameChange Solar is one of the fastest growing, most dynamic companies in the booming solar industry. We are looking for an eager and experienced Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller to undertake aspects of financial management to join our team. This is a highly demanding, challenging and fast paced full time position based in NYC. If you are an effective negotiator and excel at driving down costs, then this is the position for you.
Responsibilities include but will not be limited to:
Regulatory and Financial Reporting
Budget Forecasts and preparation
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Facilitate month end and year end close processes
Accounts payables/ receivables processing
Prepare and issue invoices for billing
Tax and audit preparation to comply with all levels of government reporting requirements
Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures
Skills and education:
Proven working experience with 3 + years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
CPA or CMA preferred
Advanced degree in Accounting
Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience with creating financial statements
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills in Quickbooks.
Knowledge of manufacturing of steel, aluminum and hardware components is a plus.
Experience in logistics and transportation is a plus.
