Tax Accountant Job Opening in New York, New york - Responsibilities:
Prepare and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Prepare sales tax, federal and state income tax returns for individual and corporations;
Perform complex tax research;
Prepare research memoranda, written correspondence and guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other tax authorities;
Prepare tax planning and estimates and become involved in planning for more complex clients;
Analyze IRS notices and draft responses;
Contribute to the client service team by producing quality work with quick turnaround and attentive service;
Establish good working relationships with all partners and staff members.
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years? experience accounting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong time and project management skills
Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of Excel and Quickbooks and Lacerte
Experience working in a CPA firm is a must
