JOB SUMMARY FOR EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER:
Working within a growing software development team, the successful applicant will make major contributions to the development of high quality, robust solutions to meet the expanding market for Electric Steering Systems.
The role will encompass the full scope of the software development processes, from requirements capture, through top level and detailed software designs, code implementation to verification of the software.
The team is responsible for delivering the key application level s/w modules which tailor the core S/W to a particular customer.
Modules to include (but not limited to): Vehicle Communications / Bootloader(s) / Interfaces / Power Moding / Customer Diagnostics and Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER:
To capture the software requirements of the system.
Design and development of complex software module architecture in an AUTOSAR environment.
Creation and development of complex software design both in natural language and modelling, with particular emphasis on Rhapsody, UML and/or Simulink
To ensure that software designs are fully suited to the target micro platform and are fully compliant with the requirements.
To support software development throughout the software lifecycle
Software unit testing to ensure validation of software designs and code prior to integration.
Support customer / TRW stakeholder meetings when necessary including C40 and GDPIM reviews.
Tracking progress against plan and implementing corrective actions when problems are identified.
Regular reporting of progress, risks and issues to resource manager.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER:
Degree or similar qualification in Electronic Engineering.
5 years? experience in automotive embedded software engineering.
Real-time, embedded systems skills with hands-on software debugging experience. For this, a good understanding of C-language is desirable.
Capable of implementation of software using embedded, C# language to meet embedded controls requirements.
Good practical knowledge of embedded software development methods and tools.
Understanding of the software development process for real-time, low cost systems for high volume manufacture.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER:
Automotive embedded software experience.
Understanding of SPICE and ISO26262.
Previous experience of communicating with customers.
Tools: Rhapsody, UML and/or Simulink based design experience helpful but not mandatory
Proficiency with C Language to be able to debug and relate software to requirements.
TargetLink experience would be helpful.
to AUTOSAR architectures.
An understanding of digital electronic hardware.
Green Belt certified.
