Night Auditor Job Opening in New Orleans, Louisiana - Night Auditor performs the night audit operations to ensure the maintenance of financial controls, and compliance with hotel standards. Coordinate with other departments (i.e. Security, Housekeeping) to ensure quality service is provided to all guests.
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
Prepare daily Restaurant Revenue Report data by auditing Point of Service tapes/journals to breakdown revenue, covers, waiters' fees, tips paid out and settlements by type and cashier.
Run audit reports/journals from the front office system, Point of Service and the computer.
Make corrections and adjustments and handle all computer problems that might occur throughout the shift.
Input into the front office system to generate the daily reports such as the Guest Ledger Summary and the Daily Restaurant Summary.
Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain files and reset the system for next day operations.
Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate action and provide accurate information such as outlet hours and local attractions.
Promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear communication. Input messages into the computer. Retrieve messages and communicate the content to the guest. Retrieve mail, small packages and facsimiles for customers as requested.
Close guest accounts at time of check out and ascertain satisfaction. In the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate compromise, which may include authorizing revenue allowances.
Field guest complaints, conducting thorough research to develop the most effective solutions and negotiate results. Listen and extend assistance in order to resolve problems such as price conflicts, insufficient heating or air conditioning, etc.
Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity. Plan and implement detailed steps by using experienced judgment and discretion.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Perform any other job related duties as assigned. Experience, Skills and Knowledge.
At least 1 year Front Desk/PBX/Guest Services experience in a similar sized operation required. Previous Night Audit experience strongly preferred.
Basic mathematical skills and ability to make accurate mathematical calculations using a 10-key. * Ability to effectively deal with guest and associate concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans/Disabled.
