The successful candidate will be trained and mentored by the CFO with the intention of succeeding him in a few years.
Accounting Supervisor/Manager
The Accounting Supervisor/ Manger will report to the CFO, and will also collaborate and liaise with other members of the Finance Team This individual will possess the following skills and background:
BA or BS in Accounting; CPA preferred but not required;
3 years accounting experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment;
Proficiency with Accounting software (preferably ABILA MIP),Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access; working knowledge of QuickBooks desired;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to successfully perform under and meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision; and;
Ability to identify, document and recommend process improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reviews validity and coding accuracy of operating disbursements prior to final sign off by CFO and /or CEO.
Prepares and approves all monthly closing journal entries, revenue and billing posting entries and all monthly accrued expense journal entries.
Manages and completes month end closings by the 15th of the following month.
Prepares, or assists in the preparation of Financial Reports required by State and Federal Agencies.
Prepares, manages, and advises CFO on all Government and outside Accountant audits
Maintains (keeps current) Fixed Asset and Depreciation ledgers.
Reconciles key balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Completes operating and payroll operating bank account reconciliations monthly.
Collaborates with others on the Finance team to analyze monthly variances from budget and provides findings to CFO.
Understands and communicates business issues to CFO with recommendations for improvement.
Performs cash management activities as instructed by the CFO.
Performs other tasks and participates in special projects as requested by the CFO.
