Accounting Manager
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager has oversight of a variety of accounting functions of the Baird & Warner portfolio of businesses. This position will assist in the proper accounting of all financial transactions, managing and monitoring procedures, documentation, and overall execution of the day to day business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and develop process improvements for better procedures and controls.
Assist in the monthly close, reviewing accounts for accuracy and completeness
Complete routine journal entries as necessary
Help insure routine completion of account reconciliations and analyses of balance sheet and income statement:
Support the annual financial audits of the mortgage and consolidated businesses
Manage the bank and cash reconciliations
Contribute to and complete special projects, as necessary
Partner with fellow team members and business leaders to maintain strong communication and deliverables.
Required Experience
Bachelor?s degree in accounting
CPA or MBA preferred
10+ years experience in accounting, with previous experience across the accounting disciplines
3-5 years of previous management expense of staff
Experience at a real estate company or financial institution preferred
Excellent communications skills required
Proven ability to effectively work autonomously and in a team setting
Strong computer skills including Microsoft suite, Great Plains accounting software
Able to handle a dynamic environment and a change leader
Effective in managing multiple tasks and keeping organized
