PURPOSE
Investigates and analyzes accounts in order to properly identify and coordinate insurance benefits.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews all available account/claim information, as well as provider notes, and then contacts the appropriate parties.
Communicates by telephone, and in writing, with patients, employers, insurance companies, attorneys offices and/or employers.
Sends billing information to employers, Work Comp insurance carriers, health insurance carriers, attorneys offices and/or employers.
Tracks the status of insurance claims and litigated cases until accounts are paid/resolved.
Become familiar with State laws governing fee schedules, filling limits, and other statutes.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proficient using Microsoft office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
Knowledge of Healthcare Terminology preferred but not required
Valid Drivers License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift approximately 20 lbs.
Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree is preferred
Prior experience with insurance claims and/or a background in the legal profession is preferred but not required
