FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
POSITION AVAILABLE FOR HIRE IN OCTOBER
Summary: Operates multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Answers telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel, or initiates a triage slip for response by medical personnel.
Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information.
Registers patients by verifying that patient's record is up to date and accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient's chart.
Greets and directs patients, sales people, and visitors.
Schedules appointments and enters appointment date, time and reason for being seen into computerized scheduler updates appointment calendars.
Takes payments for services and products. Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. : High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one month to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses: None required
Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients and other associates of the organization.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and Internet software.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
