Bookkeeper-Accounting Clerk Job Opening in Saint Cloud, Minnesota - The National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association (NWRA) is searching for a full-time Clerk to join our dynamic team of wildlife professionals. This position provides bookkeeping, accounting, and related clerical functions assisting the organization in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
Hours
This is a full-time hourly position. The work schedule is typically 8 hours per day Monday through Friday at the NWRA office in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly rate is $14.64 - $15.13

Job Description
Purpose of the Position
This is a permanent full-time position (40 hours per week) in the NWRA St. Cloud office to assist and support the Central Office staff, and the NWRA Board of Directors, in achieving and maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and accountability in bookkeeping and accounting functions and in related clerical functions. The Clerk works closely with the Central Office Manager, Conference Manager, and selected board members to effectively produce and manage the organization?s records and databases for the annual audit, fundraising efforts, membership development, annual symposium, and other areas. This person helps to ensure that NWRA?s high standards continue to be met in a professional, ethical, and legal manner.
Educational and Performance Requirements
An Associate degree in accounting or bookkeeping or equivalent experience is required. In addition, important characteristics for this job include:

Demonstrated proficiency in Access, Excel, Word, and Nonprofit QuickBooks
Experience with membership and donor databases
Understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and practices
Ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team-oriented workplace

Professional Duties and Responsibilities
General Administration
Follow NWRA established procedures and guidelines, recommend improvements, and provide updates as necessary
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and maintain records associated with deferred revenue, use of vacation and personal time, and other system requirements
Track and keep accurate records of income, deposits, electronic transfers, and revenue transactions
Assist in processing membership payments and records, which may include deposits, credit card transactions, and communications with members
Assist in preparing financial statements and various reports for the Treasurer, Board Committees, Finance Committee, Central Office Manager, as requested
Assist in preparing reports for the annual audit, proofing financial statements, and preparing information for tax returns
Record and track symposium sponsorship, advertisement, and grant revenues and expenditures, including restricted donations
Annual National Symposium
Assist with Symposium registration and provide checks and balances for symposium figures.
Travel to Annual Symposia and assist with registration and other areas as needed for 1 week annually ?typically February or March.
Development and Fundraising
Maintain a detailed, accurate, and current database of donors and create reports as needed
Accurately record, deposit, process, and acknowledge gifts/donations in a timely manner
Accurately track costs and revenue for various fundraising initiatives
Research, apply for, and renew state solicitation registrations to ensure NWRA is in good legal standing for fundraising
Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor
