We have been active in the US for a number of years, focused in NYC, and have recently started building out US regional offices with a view to supporting a target for rapid growth in the US to get us to the point of earning 30% of our revenues from US clients by 2020.
Main duties: Taking an active technical leadership role on projects to deliver solutions to our clients. All projects are different, some are quite small being delivered in three months, while some are multi-year programs of work, but they all involve working closely with client staff, both technical and business to help shape the solutions and ensure the delivery team understands what is needed.
Leading Agile software development teams with the ability to introduce Scrum to the clients without Agile experience. Many of Endava?s engagements are driven using Agile delivery methodologies and therefore the successful candidate should have a proven track record of following lean and agile, including Scrum and Kanban, practices as well as understanding how best to interact with delivery teams.
Architect Role
The key architecture activities you will be involved in include:
Supporting pre-sales and ?pitch? activity by providing technical and solution expertise to the sales team, and participating in sales calls to clients.
Actively shaping the project scope, requirements, technical details and staffing with other senior Endava personnel
Developing architectural solutions in collaboration with clients.
Reviewing and validating solutions produced by clients
Working with the teams on design and estimation tasks and coaching continuous improvements
Mentoring teams to improve their technical ability and best ways to utilize the agile process on client engagements
Meeting clients to help scope opportunities, before the project starts
Architects also have a responsibility to contribute to the broader architecture discipline within Endava and shape and direct the architecture services that Endava brings to market.
The candidate should be prepared for travel within the New York Metro region to our client?s sites for sales meetings and limited engagement work. In some cases, the Architect may be required to be present on client sites for extended periods of several months in the New York/Metro area.
There will also be very occasional travel to our Delivery Units in Central America, Central Europe and/or Eastern Europe for short periods at a time.
Skills Required:
Essential:
Expertise with architecting, designing, developing, deploying and troubleshooting large systems implemented in one or more popular technology stacks (including Java, , Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), etc).
Very strong objected oriented analysis skills.
Extensive experience in enterprise application architectures, deployment, environments, and elaboration of non-functional concerns (scalability, performance, availability, reliability, security etc.)
Very familiar with a broad range of architectural patterns and styles (e.g. SOA, Microservices, ESB, Message Driven Architecture, Event Driven Architecture, etc.)
Experience in modernizing legacy architectures
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure to support an enterprise solution. (eg. AWS, VMWare, Azure)
Working knowledge of database architectures, data modeling, SQL, relational principles, and NoSQL approaches.
Exposure to offshore development using both agile & other delivery techniques.
Knowledge of one or more architectural notations such as UML, Archimate, etc.
Proficiency in creating a broad range of architecture documentation elaborating various stakeholder views.
Ability to conduct in-depth design reviews of enterprise level systems such as Big Data solutions, data warehouse systems, payment processing systems, etc.
Expertise in designing enterprise level systems.
Ability to tie business domain knowledge into technical views and architectural solutions.
Experience of working on bids with multiple stakeholders, or similar experience working on in-house business cases and developing estimates
Desirable:
Knowledge of a functional programming approach
Understanding of how to architect and deliver ?12 factor? applications
Familiarity with advanced topics such as Distributed Cache Solutions, Multi-threading, Master Data Management, Machine Learning, Big Data, Data Visualization, etc.
Experience with Data Warehouse, ETL, dashboard, and associated reporting solutions is a big plus
Experience in technically leading development teams
Wide exposure to a variety of computer languages (Go, Rust, Ruby, Python, etc).
Knowledge of financial systems, including trading systems, low latency systems, etc.
Experience with Continuous Delivery
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
Experience of visiting prospective clients and working with sales and account managers
Experience working in the Financial Services or Media sectors
