BCF is a dynamic organization poised for growth because of a dedicated small staff team and a committed eighteen member Board of Trustees. This position will have a direct impact in all aspects of the organization, will be trained in foundation-specific software, and there is opportunity for growth.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
The Accounting & Operations Coordinator provides financial and organization-wide support under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director of Finance and Operations. This part-time position plays a critical roll in ensuring financial integrity and the safeguard of organizational assets. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Accounting
Oversee BCF?s financial information including the accuracy, security, timely,and consistency of data entry
Manage full-cycle bi-weekly accounts payable process
Draft regular and ad-hoc financial statements
Assist with annual audit and ensure reporting compliance
Ensure accurate and timely review and posting of gifts including pledges,stock and in-kind
Human Resources Management
Maintain accurate and timely benefit accrual information
Manage vendor relationships
Perform semi-monthly payroll and related tasks
Reporting
Ensure secure, timely, and appropriate flow of internal and external financialand donor information
Assist with ad-hoc internal finance, grant and development reporting
Systems
Participate in foundation systems training; manage need-based access,troubleshooting, develop/update best practice procedures, templates for data import and export, and provide staff support
Recommend, document and follow internal processes and practices
Organizational
Assist with vendor and building-related management
Perform other duties as assigned by DDFO
QUALIFICATIONS :
The ideal candidate is highly organized, likes working with financial data while also enjoying a dynamic work environment, has excellent communication skills, enjoys working independently with team input, has sense of humor and has the following:
BA preferred
3+ years of related accounting experience
Experience with fund accounting software and advanced database skills
A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization andproblem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
Advanced Excel skills
Discretion and respect for information privacy
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of BCF
