Accounting - Office Manager Job Opening in Longmont, Colorado - Lawson Construction is seeking an Accounting/ Office manager to manage all accounting, administrative and human resources functions. Lawson Construction was established in 1989 and performs heavy highway paving and large commercial concrete infrastructure projects.
The company uses and has an onsite server and nation wide system tailored specifically for processing All necessary data and reports.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee all General Ledger accounting, including fixed assets and project inventories
Review all job cost budgeting, costing and reporting
Preparation of the monthly contracts in progress schedule
Coordinate the preparation of work papers for monthly and year-end financial statements and annual audit
Provide accurate work-in-progress reports and tracking
Ensure accurate contract preparation, documentation, monitoring and maintenance and contract administration during various stages of a contract life cycle including requirements for Federally Funded Projects
Prepare regulatory reports (e.g. payroll tax, reporting, sales and use tax, highway fuel tax, property taxes, etc.)
Review weekly payroll processing for compliance with Davis Bacon wage requirements on Federally Funded Projects
Monitor and prepare applications for annual licenses and qualification permits for various governmental entities
Comply with all monthly reporting requirements on Federally Funded Projects
Review and assist in preparation of subcontractor's monthly progress payments for work performed
Review Lawson Company Project Manager's monthly progress billings/ invoices to Owners for work performed
Over see payroll and Accounts Payable departments
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years experience
Construction Accounting background strongly desired
Knowledge of Federally Funded Contract Requirements including Davis bacon Wages desired
Must have good communication skills with bankers, insurance agents, subcontractors and owners
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact and work effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization
Broad knowledge of all areas relating to Human Resource functions including basic OSHA safety rules and EEO regulations highly desirable as this position serves as the director of these areas within the company and handles compliance communication with external parties
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
