Sr. Grant Accountant Job Opening in Denver, Colorado - Will account for post-award activities for federal state, private and local grants. Review Project and Activity Management sub-system set up parameters for assigned awards. Prepares monthly invoices, interacts with Program Managers to obtain invoice approval and bills the appropriate sponsor, including the Federal draw down. Processes invoices and records cash receipts. Assists in reconciling sub-ledgers to the General Ledger. Follows up on past due amounts with sponsors. Interacts collaboratively with the Grant Analysts and Sponsored Programs and Research staff, as well as our client's Foundation staff to ensure grants are properly set up, billed entirely, accurately, and timely. Ensures the general ledger accurately reflects revenue and expense in compliance with GASB accounting standards. In conjunction with Program Managers and SPARO staff, as well as the terms and conditions of the award. Ensures correct and timely interdepartmental transfers on the general ledger. Prepares grant closeout activities in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education : BS or BA in Finance or Accounting, or other business related field
Experience: Typically, three years accounting experience, specifically related to grant accounting
Knowledge and Skills: 10 key by touch, Advanced Excel proficiency, MS Word, Familiarity with the Code of Federal Regulations relating to Cost Principles and the Uniform Administrative requirements, OMB Circular A-133, Audits of States, Local Governments and Non-Profit Organizations and its annual Compliance Supplement. Knowledge of Lawson.
: CPA Preferred, Grants Management training or certification preferred
