Compliance Officer Job Opening in Secaucus, New jersey - Riverside Medical Group is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer. This position is responsible for planning, designing and implementing compliance and internal audit programs, policies and procedures that promote a culture that fosters ethical and compliant behavior and provides basis for ensuring adequate internal controls and compliance with all laws and regulatory requirements. The Compliance Officer is responsible for the development, dissemination and implementation of policies, compliance and audit standards, and administrative systems in areas that include accreditation and licensure, prevention of fraud and illegal acts, unauthorized use of assets, improper or inadequate documentation and billing and adherence to the requirements of federal, state and local regulatory authorities
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in business administration or relevant healthcare management field required, Masters' degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 5 years' experience in healthcare compliance matters, preferably for a large healthcare system. Experience in conducting investigations, performance of coding and billing reviews and auditing. In depth knowledge of healthcare compliance and privacy laws, regulations, and guidance. Minimum of 5 years healthcare experience as an external or internal auditor or financial management consultant with extensive knowledge of the healthcare regulatory environment, knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodology and healthcare information systems.
LICENSE/CERT/REG: Certification in healthcare compliance or another comparable compliance certification from a recognized industry professional association with a focus on regulatory compliance, auditing, monitoring, etc. Coding certification preferred.
SKILLS: Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office products, and other health care related applications. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
