The NutriQuest® Business Solutions (NQBS) team is comprised of leading financial and business experts provide CFO level experience in the livestock, row-crop and financial industries. Our team focuses on the specific needs of a business to offer expertise in consulting with livestock and row-crop producers in the areas of strategic planning, financial restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, financial planning, management information systems, risk management and benchmarking.
We are currently seeking a Staff Accounting to join our NutriQuest Business Solutions team. This position is located in Atlantic, IA. As the Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting the Consulting Chief Financial Officers in managing financial reporting needs for clients. Applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and forecasts by compiling information and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures. Responsible for working with general managers/staff members for various clients to create and assisting Consulting CFO with managing both short term and long term budgets and forecasts, as well as working with various lenders, tax preparers and attorneys to provide any financial information that is requested. May supervise the accounting staff of clients simultaneously and remotely including overseeing the daily, monthly and quarterly reporting. Essential Functions
Responsible for activities of various client?s accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audit and annual budgets
Month end processing of financial information including graphs and production driven analysis. Additional Accounting duties as needed, including:
Journal entries, account reconciliation, cash management, financial analysis, cash forecasting, intercompany, and data management
Accounting activities in the areas of general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets
Intercompany accounts receivable and accounts payable activity including reconciliation, confirmation, accruals, issue resolution and accurate reporting
Assist in procedure development and recommend/implement process improvements.
Customer service - provide timely responses to internal and external inquiries
Calculate and review variances from the budget and forecast and report significant issues to management
Assist client(s) with income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all income tax returns taking full advantage of favorable tax codes
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports
Qualifications
Experience Level: minimum of 5+ years? experience
Education/Degree Requirements ? Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting
Agriculture background required
Knowledge of accounting standards and practices
Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Experience with Accounting Software such as Sage/MAS200, Quickbooks and/or Peachtree preferred
Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
