Accounting Lead Job Opening in Washington Court House, Ohio - POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Lead, under the direction of the CFO, is responsible for direct oversight and guidance of the accounting department, including the General Ledger, Payroll, and Accounts Payable. This position will provide leadership through administration and direction of the Hospital?s financial reporting and accounting systems.
POSITION EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor?s degree in accounting
3-5 years in accounting or finance (healthcare preferred)
Proven skills/experience in management of accounting staff
Experience of various financial software packages as required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service and team skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization
Well organized work habits
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, directs, and manages the activities of the accounting function for the Hospital
Applies principles of accounting and statistical analysis to maintain and ensure accuracy of general accounting system
Coordinates and presents accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements and other reporting and analysis as needed
Works with direct reports to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance development of staff
Oversees activities of Accounts Payable and Payroll
Provides assistance to hospital department leaders in preparing their respective budgets
Understands contractual adjustments in a healthcare setting
Prepares and keys monthly journal entries
Conducts reconciliation of bank accounts
Reviews and reconciles assigned general ledger accounts as directed by the CFO and resolves any discrepancies
Participates in the preparation of hospital financial statements and reports for internal distribution and regulatory reporting
Assists in the identification and analysis of significant fluctuations in asset/liability account balances, and communicates findings to CFO for follow-up action
Provides information and assistance to the external auditors as requested to facilitate the audit?s timely completion
Maintains the computerized fixed asset system
Attends and/or participates in professional development programs
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
