Information Technology (IT) Technician
Qualifications:
A bachelor?s degree in computer science preferred, but not required; or at least five years? experience in the field of computer science or information system processing.
Local Area Networking (LAN) and Wide Area Networking (WAN) experience
Relates well to children

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Highly skilled and proficient in theoretical and practical software application
Highly- specialized knowledge in computer systems analysis, programming, and/or software engineering
Knowledge and/or experience of PC repair and maintenance
Microsoft Office, Internet, Windows, and most current anti-virus program
Ability to type
Ability to work independently and without close supervision
Ability to work effectively in a team environment or as a team player
Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain software applications and peripheral equipment
Ability to configure and maintain network equipment, including routers, hubs, and switches
Have an understanding of Web Servers, HTML, FTP software and servers and the ability to manage all organizations
Good verbal and written communication

Essential Responsibilities:
Perform the application of systems analysis techniques and procedures , to include consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications
Design, develop, document, analyze, create, test, or modify computer systems or programs
Document, test, or modify computer programs related to machine operating systems
Perform and maintain file back-up on all applications on the server
Install all software updates to network applications
Coordinate installation of hardware and software throughout the campus
Maintain the server and applications on the network
Repair, upgrade, and support PC?s and printers
Maintain the hardware and software inventory and licensure for the school
Maintain user accountability and security groups
Implement and coordinate a user help desk
Serve as the project leader on hardware, software purchases, and other computer related purchases
Assist with the development of the school?s technology plan
Attend staff meetings and other meetings as called
Exercise proper and safe work practices at all times
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist users with procedures and formats
Serve on various committees
Seek personal and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Keep office and work area tidy and neat
Supervise work students
Carry out all school rules, policies and procedures
Enforce student?s dress code and report violators
Perform other related functions as requested by your supervisor and/or department head
Physical Skills and Abilities:
Ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds
Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read technical information
Working Conditions:
Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work.
