Medical Receptionist Job Opening in Long Beach, California - TPIRC (The Translational Research and Immunology Research Center) is an institute which houses cutting edge research, patient care and philanthropy under one roof. The receptionist role is to be the first point of contact by phone or in person to many of the institute's consumers.
Primary responsibilities would include:
FORNT * Promptly answering a high-volume of phone calls. Accurately taking and delivering messages to appropriate providers and staff * Daily faxing, scanning * Scheduling new and returning patients * Maintains knowledge of all providers' schedules and restrictions. * Patient check-in and check-out * Verification of insurances, collecting co-payments, deductibles, and balances * Manage inventories
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multiple tasking, work as a team. * Excellent customer service skills with outstanding phone and written and verbal communication skills * Positive and upbeat personality * Knowledge of grammar, spelling and medical terminology * General knowledge of healthcare insurance and terminology * Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes * Must be able to work under general supervision and stressful situations. * Professional and mature demeanor with presentable appearance * Excellent organizational abilities. * Previous experience with EMR/EHR * Previous experiences with cosmetic procedures such as laser procedures and skin care products are a BIG PLUS
BACK: Back Office Assist with visits and vitals when needed.
Qualifications:
Strong verbal/written communication skills are essential

Trustworthy and discreet with sensitive information
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with a team are required
Good Working Knowledge of all MS Office Programs (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Being able to multi task is a must
Ability to establish priorities independently.
Details:
Pay rate: $13-16/hourly depending upon experience and qualifications
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 am ? 5:30 pm
Salary: $13.00 to $16.00 /hour
