Senior Internal Auditor Job Opening in Hartford, Connecticut - Overview:

This Senior Auditor position is a leadership position, managing critical audits on a global scale, so supervisory ability, strong communication skills and executive presence are critical to success in this role. Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of audits planning, execution and reporting of financial and operational audits with a heavy focus on insurance, investments and financial risk.
Assist in the development of a group-wide risk based audit plan.
Develop effective senior management relationships.
Participate in major business initiatives and proactively advises and assists the business on change initiatives.
Supervisory responsibility for review/project teams including mentoring and coaching assigned staff.
Performs ad hoc audit projects, as assigned by department management, responding to emerging risks and management requests.
Requirements:
BA/BS degree in Accounting, Auditing Business or equivalent. Master's Degree is a plus
CPA, CIA, or CISA are highly valued.
4+ years Big 4 and/or corporate audit experience
Insurance / Financial Services experience is highly valued
Demonstrated leadership in managing people and projects.
Proven track record within internal/external audit environment evidencing strong performance in conducting high quality audit work, findings and reports.
Experience with effective interaction with members of senior management.
Knowledge of financial services, investments, and/or insurnace
Knowledge of US GAAP, and general understanding of SEC and statutory reporting requirements is a plus
Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements
Familiar with risk-based and business process focused audit approach.
Strong computer skills with experience in system based audits would be an advantage.
Ability to work in a global work environment.
Willingness to travel up to 35% of the time.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $75,000.00 to $95,000.00 /year
