Summary: The primary responsibility of the Outside Sales Representative is to attain growth targets in the assigned territory. Responsibilities include: developing business plans, servicing key customers, implementing sales programs, selling new products, developing leads and maintaining strong communication with store managers and professionals to identify potential growth opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop, evaluate and maintain an effective sales and marketing plan for an assigned territory. Ensure sales growth through effective account prospecting, lead generation and increased purchase orders. Establish and maintain relationships with accounts through site and office visits. Visit job sites/ review competitive data to gain knowledge of jobs to either inquire or present as a lead to painting contractors. Educate all contractors and other accounts on store product portfolio and services. Identify new selling opportunities and close new deals in alignment with market strategies and assigned goals. Maintain knowledge of job aids and specifications. Set pricing on specific jobs. Attend trade shows or other relevant functions to obtain competitive information. Partner with store managers to gain a complete understanding of all paint related jobs taking place in the local territory. Direct business through assigned stores based on customer service level requirements ? Manage complaint resolutions. Follow-up on leads generated through the store and cultivate existing house accounts. Carry out other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Education: 2 or 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience. Must have a valid driver?s license and be in good standing. Experience required; Candidate must have the ability to develop strong customer relationships, identify customer needs, prospect for new accounts, and possess strong verbal/ written communication, presentation, negotiation, closing and creative problem-solving skills. Must have strong knowledge and understanding of the professional contractor business, prospecting, cold callings tactics, developing and implementing territory business plans ? Strong interpersonal, speaking and listening skills. Demonstrated expertise in customer service and satisfying customer complaints. Detail oriented with the ability to manage time efficiently and appropriately. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite). Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
