Advertising Sales Representative Job Opening in Kingsville, Texas - The Kingsville Record and Bishop News , a Kingsville, Texas print and online newspaper company, is looking for an assertive and creative salesperson to fill an open position in the advertising sales department.

Outside Sales: Do you have experience managing a route or sales territory? Have you worked in media advertising sales, insurance or any type of B2B sales? We?re looking for someone who can walk into businesses, build relationships with owners and/or managers and ask questions to find out about their marketing and advertising needs. The successful salesperson can show business owners how the twice-weekly newspaper and online products can serve their advertising needs.
This position also will focus on business development. Your goal will be to prospect for advertising customers and consult with them about how the newspaper?s products can help their business grow. Developing professional relationships, built on trust in your sound advice and return for their investment, will be key to success of this position. You will have a specific number of appointments and goals to meet each week. You must be extremely organized and detailed with paperwork.
The ideal candidate has previous sales experience, preferably with newspaper and/or other media. Other related sales experience with a proven track record of closing sales and growing customer base also will be considered. Candidate will be aggressive in achieving personal and company goals, and excellent at building professional relationships with customers.
The position is full time with normal business hours Monday through Friday. A good driving record and dependable transportation are required. Day travel will primarily be in Kingsville and the surrounding areas.
The successful candidate will receive training, mileage reimbursement and a compensation guarantee during initial training period. The position earns both a base pay plus commission.
