Accounting Specialist - Payroll Job Opening in Thorp, Wisconsin - WB Manufacturing LLC continues to experience double-digit growth in our industry. Our company is privately held and has grown into several new product lines from its roots of manufacturing bench tops for the material handling and industrial industries. We now serve educational furniture dealers and manufacturers; store fixture and point-of-purchase suppliers; material handling manufacturers and dealers; contractors and architects; Casegoods dealers and office furniture manufacturers. We are currently seeking to fill the position of Accounting Specialist ? Payroll. This is a full time, benefit eligible position responsible for management of the company payroll processing needs as well as performing a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions in the organization. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Process Company?s Bi-weekly Payroll ? 30%
Review, prepare and enter employee timesheets and process company payroll using web-based software program.
Review and correct any employee missed punches daily.
Print and distribute the Manager?s Weekly Payroll Detail Report and make any necessary corrections to time keeping system.
Upkeep of employee data in time keeping and payroll software systems and excel spreadsheets.
Prepare and process G/L journal entries for payroll/employee benefit related accounts.
Prepare and submit any necessary payroll related filings for State and Federal taxes, child support orders, wage garnishments and other payroll related items.
Complete employee wage verification requests.
Prepare necessary information for payroll/employee benefit audits.
Work with HR Manager on personnel related items.
Cost Accounting functions ? 40%
Process and perform data entry of employee labor cards daily.
Prepare and distribute labor reports to Department Managers.
Prepare and process G/L journal entries for labor distribution.
General Accounting Functions ? 30%
Act as back up to the Accounts Receivable Specialist.
Act as back up to the Accounts Payable Specialist.
Assist in month end reporting procedures and annual audits.
Help CFO with special projects.
Research accounting data to resolve account problems and discrepancies.
Perform filing and general administrative tasks.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Associate Degree in Accounting or related field with at least 2 years of employment experience with accounting responsibilities and at least 2 years experience in payroll processing using a web-based software program is required. Or any combination of education and experience to be considered equivalent.
Experience with MS Office including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook required. Knowledge of accounting software preferred.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures required.
Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of payroll, personnel and accounting information.
Must have great attention to detail and organizational skills.
Must be able problem solve and trouble shoot payroll and G/L account discrepancies.
Must be able to work as part of a team.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to perform 10 key data entry functions with efficiency and accuracy.

Salary: $35,000.00 to $41,000.00 /year
