Software Engineer Job Opening in Greenwich, Connecticut - Job Description
Financial services firm is seeking strong C++ and Java Developers to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and demanding environment. The candidate will be expected to participate in all phases of the software development cycle and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will have to design, develop, and maintain software applications that are used to automate Back Office, Accounting, Treasury and Compliance operations of the firm. The tasks involved in this process may include:
Web-based GUIs using Java or C++ on Linux platform
Database design and development using UML and Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL)
Reporting applications using Java and
Parsers for vendor data in CSV, XML, FIXML or SWIFT MT (ISO 15022) formats
Shell scripts using
Required:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
Minimum 3 years of programming experience in Java/J2EE on UNIX/Linux
Strong knowledge of object oriented concepts and UML
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Independent, self-motivated, and detail oriented
Desirable:
Familiarity with RDBMS, preferably Oracle
Experience with XML, FIXML, and SWIFT messaging
Knowledge of financial instruments
Experience with IDE like Eclipse and Continuous Integration
