Systems Programmer Job Opening in Danbury, Connecticut - Ridgefield One has been contracted to help fill a number of new positions with a growing Cyber Defense company in Fairfield County, CT.
Job Summary:
This position will help to support the Systems Engineer with current and future products within our security product landscape. Successful candidates must be experienced with Linux systems with a focus on building systems utilizing system and security best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create RPMs of software
Setup and Test new hardware platforms that are developed
Build user interfaces
Configure systems to meet security best practices
Scripting using Python and/or Bash
Configure company Applications and define tests plans to match system requirements
Ability to work with customers to understand problems and define solutions
Work effectively within a team environment
Other duties as management may so direct
Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Any previous security clearances a plus
3-7 years? experience
College degree in a relevant field of study. i.e. engineering, computer science, physics, etc. (advanced degree a plus)
Limited travel may be required
Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
Knowledge of relevant software/systems as follows:
Unix/Red Hat Enterprise, CentOS Linux
Development skills and overall knowledge of Linux systems
Systems administration background
Strong Networking skills (TCP/UDP)
Experience building and configuring Linux for custom hardware platforms
Experience debugging system level problems
Experience with Android and/or building applications for mobile devices a plus
Experience with PHP is a plus
Experience with Bash and Python scripting
Experience with Web-servers (Apache)
Knowledge of Kickstart
Experience with auditing and remediating systems for security reviews a plus
Experience with version control software (i.e. Git, Subversion, CVS) a plus
Experience with software development and testing
Overall coordination, development and execution of product development
Able to work in a fast-paced start-up environment
