We currently have an opportunity for a fulltime (32 hrs. / week) Staff IV Nurse . The hours of this position will vary and include day and evening shifts (approximately 11am - 8pm), on-call hours, rotating weekend and holiday coverage.
The person in this position is responsible for the provision of direct patient care to home infusion therapy patients in conjunction with physician orders. Establishes, implements and revises, as needed, a plan of treatment that meets each patient?s specifies needs and is in compliance with JCAHO, federal and state regulations, reimbursement guidelines and NELC policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
Accurately performs initial and ongoing patient assessments of home infusion therapy patients.
Provides comprehensive initial and ongoing patient and caregiver education relating to the prescribed home infusion therapy
Demonstrates competency in the aseptic administration and monitoring of all therapy types provided by NELC
Effectively communicates changes in patient status to appropriate members of infusion and reimbursement teams verbally and in writing.
Comprehensively documents all patient assessments and communication with patients, caregivers and other members of the healthcare team
Maintains and demonstrates competency in the use and troubleshooting of infusion equipment and supplies
Participates in case conferences as needed
Requirements:
R.N License in good standing in NH
Bachelor?s or Associate?s degree in Nursing
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years acute care
Previous home health nursing
Previous home infusion therapy preferred
