General Overview:
Looking for an organized and motivated individual to work with a large independent retailer located in San Antonio, Texas. The individual will work closely with vendor partners and company to manage the day-to-day needs of our customer.
Job Objective:
To assist with sourcing, execution and management of proprietary brands. Develop and manage relationships with vendors supplying proprietary brand products in support of sales growth and brand success.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Applicant will:
Assist in new product and/or vendor sourcing. This includes attending trade shows, compiling data regarding minimums, logistics, pricing, conducting competitive analysis, and facilitating samples shipment and product cutting.
Manage new product development with vendors and retailer.
Coordinate accurate and timely completion of vendor and item setup documents. Organize and maintain vendor and product setup documents. Update documents to reflect program changes as required.
Assist and coordinate with vendors and retailer to pursue product certifications including Organic, Non-GMO, and Kosher. Help ensure compliance with FDA and certification agency regulatory requirements.
Manage and resolve customer and quality control issues by maintaining consistent relationships and contact with vendors while also maintaining open communications with management.
Work with inventory management to mitigate out of stock situations at distribution centers.
Coordinate PO issue resolution and deduction resolution or repayment.
Remain current on industry trends and commodity activity relevant to impact on product cost.
Work with current suppliers to identify new item opportunities, expose items at risk of discontinuation, uncover inefficiencies, and lower costs to retailer.
Continually review logistics opportunities relevant to product cost and delivery and ensure management is aware of all opportunities.
Suggest promotional plans by category and by SKU with vendor partners
Other Responsibilities:
Position may be required to perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
BA/BS degree or commensurate work experience as a minimum.
Minimum of 3 years experience working within a multi-unit retailer, food brokerage or in sales with a commercial brand company.
Professional experience with and or passion for natural and specialty food.
Analytical skills and ability to analyze data
Ability to organize, prioritize, manage multiple tasks and work independently with little supervision.
Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficient in Microsoft Office ? Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
Impeccable project management skills.
Adaptable to a fast pace, changing environment.
Hours flexible.
10-15% travel time
