JOB SUMMARY FOR ACCOUNTANT- PAYROLL TAXES - PHX :
Responsible for auditing, balancing, and timely reporting of payroll tax information to regulatory agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ACCOUNTANT- PAYROLL TAXES - PHX :
Auditing, balancing, and reporting of payroll taxes on a pay period, quarterly, and annual basis
Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax reporting and payments for both in-house and third party payroll tax vendors to all tax agencies
Prepare and file Canadian tax filings and payments on a timely basis
Calculate and report theoretical taxes for expatriate employees
Ensure accurate and timely distribution of W2s
Testing all vendor tax updates prior to implementation
Assist in research, analysis, and preparation required for special projects/reports
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR ACCOUNTANT- PAYROLL TAXES - PHX :
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience/training
At least 3 years of experience with multi-state tax reporting in a large-scale payroll-processing environment
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR ACCOUNTANT- PAYROLL TAXES - PHX:
Working knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll tax regulations
Demonstrated ability in working with large-scale complex mainframe applications, computer data retrieval systems, and PC applications
Knowledge of internal controls
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking skills
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
