Business Office Manager-HOSPITAL/ HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE ONLY Job Opening in Bensalem, Pennsylvania - Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital is a single-specialty surgical hospital in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Our hospital was developed by Rothman physicians to provide their patients high quality and patient-focused care. Our facility features 6 fully-equipped operating rooms and 24 in-patient rooms. We are equipped for joint replacements, orthopedic surgery, pain management and spine surgery, as well as sports medicine, foot and ankle, shoulder and elbow, and hand and wrist procedures.
Job Summary :
Business Office Manager with hospital/physician office healthcare experience who will be responsible for the overall operations and functions of Patient Financial Services and Revenue Cycle. This position reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the Leadership Team for the facility.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration or related field.
Minimum of 5 years related experience in a hospital or healthcare business
Management experience in a hospital business office environment required
Knowledge of Medicare and Workers Compensation billing procedures
Ability to solve problems/implement enhancements through a process-oriented approach.
Proactive self-starter with leadership qualities
Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
Ability to solve problems/implement enhancements through a process-oriented approach.
Strong working knowledge of EMR systems and tools such as excel, word, etc.
Committed to on-going professional development
Responsibilities:
Leads and provides operational directives for all Business Office activities related to insurance verification, accurate billing, claims management and collections of Patient Account Receivables to support the overall financial goals of the hospital.
Knowledge of contracts with insurance carriers as well as contract reimbursement.
Ability to interact with and work on cross-functional teams at the hospital.
Reviews all statistical reports to monitor trends, identifies deficiencies and implements action plans as necessary.
Responsible for key indicators for AR days, cash collections goals and cash posting
Defines and provides the necessary support and leadership to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Routinely produces Aged Trial Balances and other EMR reports to monitor reimbursement patterns and investigate any cash flow issues for needed actions to assure timely collection of accounts.
Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor payments and oversight of the accounts payable function.
Maintains knowledge of current regulations and policies of the Federal, State and private payers. Keeps informed of changes, revisions, and updates.
Stays current on latest developments and trends in the field of patient account management by attending seminars/workshops and regular research.
Responsible for personnel development of department team members, implementing and maintaining Business Office policies.
Responsible for providing the necessary information for the annual audit, Medicare Cost Report and other compliance reporting.
Participates in QA/PI
