LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) Job Opening in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - $3000 sign on bonus after 6 months service
Must be Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
General Purpose: A qualified individual who can perform the essential job functions of this position with or without accommodation. The individual?s primary purpose in this position is to provide general nursing care to residents on the assigned unit and assists the Registered Nurse in the process of planning, implementing and evaluating the care of residents.
Essential Job Functions:
Executes interdisciplinary care plan (under minimal supervision) for each resident and assists with review and revision of each care plan as required.
Observes residents for changes in condition due to drugs, treatment, etc. and reports adverse changes to supervisor.
Timely administers and records medications and treatments as ordered, orders drugs from pharmacy, performs BGM?s, Pulse OX, etc., and reports all significant findings to supervisor.
Timely documents all pertinent resident information reflecting health status and response to care plan goals. Transcribes and notes orders.
Supervises Certified Nursing Assistants which includes but is not limited to in orienting, assigning and evaluating.
Assists and oversees residents in activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, toileting, and maintaining a neat environment for residents.
Assists n the admission /discharge process.
Obtains samples from residents for diagnostic tests.
Changes linens and makes beds as needed.
Performs all duties while observing safety regulations and in accordance with acceptable infection control standards.
Receives and provides a report with other nursing staff at change of shift.
Answers call bells as needed.
May be required to have a resident assignment list and complete the duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant for an entire shift if staffing needs require this, per RN?s discretion.
May be required to make drying/checking rounds with the Certified Nursing Assistants.
Attend programs in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements.
Ability to transfer and move residents with assistance as deemed necessary with plan of care using proper lifting techniques. Ability to push/pull equipment weighing in excess of 50 pounds using proper techniques and with assistance as necessary. Be able to sit, bend, and stoop. Stand and/or walk for six (6) hours or more daily. Sit and keyboard for two (2) or more hours daily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
Position responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime and evening or weekend hours to meet facility?s needs
Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
Meet general health requirements set forth by the policies of the Company, which may include a medical and physical examinations.
Perform other duties as directed by Registered Nurse, ADON, Director of Nursing or Administrator.
