Accountant Job Opening in Lihue, Hawaii - Under the supervision of the Fiscal Officer, the Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the fiscal department. Duties include: supervising, training, evaluating, and interviewing the Account Clerk; preparing, maintaining, and filing agency tax forms, temporary disability insurance (TDI) reports, and monthly and quarterly financial reports; reconciling monthly financial statements; preparing and verifying payroll for processing; and verifying requisitions. Additional duties include: greeting and assisting clients, staff, and vendors; attending training classes, workshops, and meetings; performing other duties as required.
Qualified applicants will possess a Associate of Arts/Sciences degree and one year of related experience, or any comparable combination of education and which would provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties of the position. Degrees relating to accounting preferred.
