Lead Accountant Job Opening in Honolulu, Hawaii - JOB DESCRIPTION for LEAD ACCOUNTANT
PACIFIC GATEWAY CENTER (PGC)
Reports to the Executive Director, and is responsible for all aspects of PGC bookkeeping and reporting.
Assists and supervises three Accountant Assistants. One Assistant manages the posting of bank deposits for Accounts Receivables and invoices The Pig & The Lady for rent and utilities. One Assistant invoices the Culinary Business Incubator and PGC Farms clients. A third Assistant tallies interpreter (independent contractor) invoices to PGC and invoices the corresponding service requesters, managing the Accounts Receivables for the Hawaii Language Bank program. In addition she reconciles the 13 PGC bank accounts on a monthly basis and creates and submits the annual 1099MISC forms.
Assists the Office Manager with up-to-date time allocations for employee payroll data and files General Excise tax returns and quarterly federal, state and local grant financial reports as required in a timely manner.
Manages all aspects of Accounts Payable, tallying and posting daily, providing bi-weekly spreadsheets and consulting with the Office Manager and Executive Director on check processing according to payment priorities. Accounting of payments and receipts are shared with the Office Manager daily.
Oversees the accuracy of all the online QuickBooks posting and submits semi-monthly Income/Expense, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow financial reports to PGC?s Board of Directors, including detailed breakout Income/Expense reports for all the current programs, which include Community Building, Economic Development, Social Services, Fundraising and Loan Programs.
Is part of PGC?s Management Team that meets regularly to oversee these programs, providing up-to-date budget vs. actual reports as needed.
Is Fiscal Officer for PGC?s microloans program, working closely with the Microloan Officer to assist borrowers of all microloan programs administered by PGC.
Prepares PGC?s annual Operating Budget of over $2 million dollars.
Generates budgets for grant proposals including assisting completion of budget narrative and SF424. If a grant is approved, she sets up the budget and oversees the expense draw downs. For cost-reimbursement grants, she submits the Requests for Reimbursement with supporting reports and documents as required.
Works closely with the auditors, collecting and preparing materials for the annual audit based on her knowledge of GAAP and A-133 requirements.
Attends webinars and other workshops as required for furthering her professional training.
