Position: Sales Director
Reports to: Executive Director
Summary of Duties
The sales director?s primary responsibility is to maintain occupancy rates based on budgeted census. This position is focused on lead generation, following up with prospective residents or their families and increasing or maintaining census. Sales Directors are also responsible for promoting the community through planning and execution of social and professional events, as well as networking with local civic groups, businesses and medical professionals. In addition to creating relationships with potential referral sources, the Sales Director also effectively manages all leads, utilizing a lead management system and contact database for tracking results.
Essential Functions
Support the mission, vision and culture of the organization through positive communication and leadership
Contribute to community relationships by demonstrating cooperation and professional conduct with residents, families, fellow associates, physicians, pharmacies and other vendors or persons.
Contribute to team effort by being flexible in work assignments; by furnishing support; by taking initiative; and by understanding how this position affects and compliments all other community positions.
Pre-qualifying sources of professional referrals in order to determine their eligibility to send qualified potential residents to the community.
Establish and maintain a professional relationship with key figures that have the ability to make or influence referrals to the community.
Visit and make presentations to key figures and their staff (i.e.: physicians, hospital medical professionals, rehabilitation hospitals, etc.) Document and follow up on these visits through the creation and usage of the computerized tracking system.
Establish a work schedule that supports the demands of the community events calendar, and meet/exceed the number of outreach, scheduled presentations, group presentations, and follow up visits as required.
Must be available as needed to provide tours, respond to telephone inquiries, give presentations, set appointments with qualified prospects and closing sales.
Be aware of any legislation, regulations, laws, restrictions or other significant information governing the community.
Assist residents and families with making decisions and provide appropriate referral sources.
Participate in analysis of the marketplace and formulation of a written strategic marketing plan with assistance from the Executive Director, Regional Director of Operations and Director of Sales and Marketing.
Maintain a current Competitive Marketing Analysis (to be completed 2 times a year, January and July).
Develop and implement a Sales & Marketing Plan (to be completed quarterly, January, April, July, October).
Work effectively with department heads to explain and set up available services.
Train and educate appropriate staff on touring, selling skills, phone etiquette and customer service.
Coordinate and carryout marketing/community outreach programs to meet predetermined goals and standards.
Compose press releases to be approved by the Executive Director (and Regional Director of Operations and Sales & Marketing Director when needed).
Effectively manage all leads and referral sources utilizing a lead management system and contact database for tracking results.
Attend staff and leadership team meetings and standups when necessary.
Maintain punctual attendance.
Maintain professional dress and appearance at all times.
Maintain active presence in sales territory as determined by Executive Director, Regional Director of Operations and/or Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing.
Educate community members on community resources and recruit for community tours.
Non-essential functions
Perform other related assignments as required.
Participate in new hire orientation program and other regular associate meetings or functions.
Assist Executive Director with special projects and special community events.
Be familiar with the Sales & Marketing Manual, any Policies and Procedure Manuals and Associate Handbook.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience
Act on constructive feedback by listening to supervisor, customers and peers and use it to improve performance.
Must be willing work weekends and special events, outside of normal working hours when necessary.
Maintain resident, employee and community confidentiality.
Know, follow and educate on Residents Rights rules.
Demonstrate positive attitude and ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly.
Promote positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork.
Comply with deadlines as outlined by Executive Director, Regional Director of Operations and Corporate Sales and Marketing Director.
Know base rates and care costs and determine changes as necessary.
Understand processes, reports and tools available in the Sales and Marketing Manual.
Meet or exceed standards for maintaining database in lead tracking program
Maintain census of 93% or higher.
Possess an assoicates degree or higher in marketing, business communications or a related field (field experience may be substituted for the degree requirement) with three years marketing experience with direct client contact and sales of services.
Must maintain networking skills.
Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $45,000.00 to $52,000.00 /year
