Director of Admissions Job Opening in Bedford, Texas - A 5-Star senior living community in West Dallas, is currently accepting applications for an Admissions Director that will be responsible for managing the Health Center admissions process and for establishing and maintaining an open, effective communication between the community and referral sources, physicians, and third party payers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate hospitality behaviors, present a professional appearance and have a heart for working with our senior population. The Admissions Director is responsible for obtaining referrals from hospital social workers, physicians, or family members; functioning as the Health Center public relations person by providing tours of the community and pertinent information regarding admissions; conduct admissions interviews with resident and/or responsible party; obtaining all required financial data, signatures, pertinent social information, medical information, attending physician information and other pertinent and required documentation prior to admission; reviewing all admissions paperwork with resident and/or responsible party; processes all Medicare denial letters, Medicare certification and re-certifications and according to Medicare regulations; maintaining on-going census activity such as admissions, discharges, deaths, room transfers, changes in payment methods, and temporary and permanent apartment status; verifying benefits from Medicare or HMO , obtaining initial certification from HMO?s and communicates available verified coverage and certification with Business Office Manager; keeping an ongoing daily/monthly census of residents in the Health Center noting admissions, discharges, deaths, transfers, changes in payment methods, and temporary and permanent assignments; maintaining an accurate list of number of days an independent living resident resides in the Health Center; coordinating utilization review for new admissions covered by Medicare Part A; maintaining complete confidentiality regarding admission information and resident records.
In addition, the following skills and experience are sought for the position: 2-3 years of admissions experience are strongly preferred; experience in post-acute services specific to creating physician relationships; driving occupancy by creating relationships with referral sources that will ultimately lead to meeting budgeted census goals; a proven history of success in healthcare marketing/sales; must possess excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills; must be a multi-tasker and team player; strong skills in Microsoft office programs (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel); B.S. or M.S. degree in a related field is preferred. The ideal candidates must be available to work various hours outside of normal business hours in order to meet the needs of potential residents and the community.
