Medical Laboratory Technician-2nd shift Job Opening in Mineral Wells, Texas - Position Overview: Responsible for performing testing on patient specimens. Completes special assignments as assigned by the laboratory manager(s), supervisor(s) and lead technologist. This position is in Jacksboro, TX. Hours are 12 pm-8:30pm and rotating Saturdays.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
Minimum education includes a 2 year Medical Laboratory Technician degree from an accredited school or Bachelors degree in one of the following: chemistry, human biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
Also desired is one year of laboratory training and experience in clinical laboratory testing.
In -depth knowledge of complex laboratory techniques, laboratory safety and quality assurance to support ongoing and future projects.
Ability to communicate well through written and verbal means is required.
Proficient with statistical and computer productivity software (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.) required.
Essential (other duties may be assigned): Responsible for performing moderate and high complexity testing with strict adherence to regulatory requirements.
Adhere to True Health Diagnostics procedures and protocols to ensure testing is accurate and run in an appropriate manner with strict adherence to our Quality Assurance standards.
Performs all analyses to produce reliable and precise data using automated and semi-automated analyzers and manual techniques.
Calibrates, maintains and operates instruments in assigned area. Documents procedures performed and follows the laboratory?s established policies and procedures whenever testing systems are not within the laboratory?s defined acceptable levels of performance.
Performs and reports data of proficiency testing samples.
Prepare standards and calibrators, and perform assay calibration as required.
Perform quality control and document findings and actions appropriately.
Interpret, accept, and release patient test results and critical values.
Perform all mathematical calculations within the testing phases (pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical).
Performs specimen processing and client communications as necessary.
Keeps up to date with technical developments, Assists with technical troubleshooting and process improvements, focusing on reductions in the turn-around time.
Maintain adequate reagent and consumable supplies in assigned area.
Adhere to True Health Diagnostics Health and Safety guidelines for the protection of each individual working in the laboratory. Training is provided annually and review is provided as needed during staff and team meetings.
Work as a team member, demonstrating good judgment, adapting to a changing environment, and asking for assistance and guidance as needed. Be self-motivated and aware of the needs of colleagues. Cultivate trust in all relationships.

Writes legibly and with complete documentation.

Seeks input and approval from Laboratory Technologist on Quality Assurance.
