Title: Psychiatric APRN
Job Summary
Provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy for adult/child psychiatric and chemical dependency patients and their families in collaboration with medical doctor. Function as an integral part of the patient-centered medical team.
Performance Expectations
Conducts and completes psychiatric evaluations according to clinic guidelines, and accurately assigns and records diagnoses
Orders diagnostic and laboratory evaluations as needed
Provides medication management to patients including prescribing medications, evaluating effectiveness and providing support and education to clients regarding medication use and effects
Conduct individual and family therapy sessions, using knowledge and diagnostic skills
Complete necessary paperwork and , documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, safety plans, progress notes, discharge notes in an accurate and timely manner
When requested, provide training and consultation services, and serve as a resource for colleagues, staff and others
Participate in peer reviews of assigned cases and peer review meetings to help identify strengths and opportunities for improvement within the team and the clinics
Follow professional guidelines with respect to clients rights and agency confidentiality standards
Complete all required training and maintain clinical licenses
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Masters Nursing program and licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or APRN Intern with Prescriptive Practice Licensure
Two years of progressively responsible experience preforming the above related duties
Required Knowledge and Skills
Working knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and treatment with psychotropic medications, mental illness and substance use disorders, treatment plans and modalities
Working knowledge of patient counseling processes, techniques, methods, and individual and group counseling skills
Working knowledge of community and regional resources engaged in social problem solving
Ability to initiate planning and implementation of mental health services, perform under adverse crisis situations and maintain appropriate professional boundaries
Ability to work independently and manage work assignments in a high interpersonal contact environment
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to follow ethical guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols.
Demonstrate skills in providing age appropriate care, conflict resolution and proceeding with objectives without direct supervision when appropriate

Salary: $97,000.00 to $110,000.00 /year
