Ultrasound Technologist
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Participates as an integral part of the team approach to patient care.
Performs quality diagnostic exams on all age groups following established policies and procedures.
Performs functions necessary to produce quality diagnostic ultrasound images.
Monitors equipment operations and reports unresolved equipment problems.*
Treats patients and customers with courtesy and respect.*
EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
High School Diploma.
Current Utah Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) License*
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)*
CERTIFICATION:
Current CPR/BLS Certification
*
EXPERIENCE:
Excellent interpersonal communications skills
Ability to use selected equipment
Ability to utilize the principles, theories, practices, techniques and methods of sonography in order to produce images of high diagnostic quality.
Understanding of anatomy.
Knowledgeable of appropriate studies to perform for the patient's diagnosis.
Demonstrates the ability to use proper screening methods of patients to avoid potential injury.
Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm and appropriate fashion.
Knowledge of patient positioning based on type of study. NATURE AND SCOPE: Reports to the Medical Assistant Team Leader of Exodus Healthcare of ultrasound machine Interfaces with all personnel of Exodus Healthcare Network. MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Team building approach to coordination of quality patient care, consistent with the mission of Exodus Healthcare Network
Responsible for performing ultrasonic recordings of internal organs, vascular structures, and soft tissues to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Prepares patient rooms, equipment, and supplies.
Works without supervision or assistance while applying independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
Knowledge and understanding of age related care needs for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Responsible for delivering high quality services and to interact appropriately with patients, patient representatives, physicians, and co-workers.
Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during the exam.
Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs.
Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with policies and procedures.
Maintains current Permits to Practice.
Provide images to the facility in the desired site format.
Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.
May assist with the set up and tear down of equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
Maintains a clean environment inside and outside US room.
Completes necessary administrative tasks. ie: time reports, billing, QA, etc.
Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds as well as assist with patient maneuvering
Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
Performs additional duties as required.
