Head of Sales Job Opening in Akron, Ohio - Head of Sales - Americas
The role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Sales to lead the sales team within our US information business, which provides conferences, market reports, strategic consultancy and corporate memberships.
You should have a proven track record of sales performance and management within a related discipline, with the ability to lead a team, build rapport with customers and provide strong hands on leadership.
In the Head of Sales role, some of your duties will include:
Management of revenue targets for portfolio of information related products and services (market reports, consulting, membership and event sponsorship) for all Smithers brands across the Americas
Build, manage and motivate a team of three direct reports
Development of relationships and networking with key clients through telephone, webinars, face to face meetings and industry event attendance
Proactively monitor industry trends, competitive environment, customer news and issues
Reporting of sales performance against budget and pipeline via CRM
Maintain and update CRM with relevant new contacts, notes and demographics
Attainment of key activity metrics across the team
Responsibility for lead sourcing using internal and external data
Manage and broaden prospect lists and generate targeted lists that increase the probability of sales.
Input into development of sales process and setting of targets with our Director of Operations.
The person
We require the following skills and experience for this role:
Bachelor?s Degree
6 years inside sales experience selling market research, consultancy or event sponsorship
3 years management experience as above
The ability to manage and exceed sales win goals, individually and across the team
Positive, self-driven leader with the ability to motivate others
Strong knowledge of sales process, particularly telephone sales techniques.
Execution and management of both a consultative and tenacious sales process
Highly effective communicator face to face and on the phone
Strong planning and organization skills to design sales campaigns and take responsibility for their effective execution
Ability to build rapport with customers and potential customers
Ability to develop highly effective working relationships with sales team members and other internal stakeholders
First class commercial awareness and business acumen
Able to grasp complex technical and strategic concepts quickly and accurately
