Controller/CFO Job Opening in Paris, Arkansas - Founded in 1976, Stark Manufacturing has grown to become a premier manufacturer of fabricated tube and hose assemblies for a variety of industries. An established company within the Fort Smith area with over 130 employees, Stark has experienced over a decade of strong growth and long-term value creation while under private equity ownership (acquired by CoBe Capital in 2002). Stark's expertise is in developing and producing complex tube assemblies. With offices co-located at the Plant site, Stark has the capability to produce custom/bespoke designs for their customers and offer services that include unique engineering solutions, rapid prototyping, tool making, precision machining and assembly.
General Purpose of the Position:
Manage department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all Company activities that will assist management and other users in making educated economic decisions about the Company's future.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the activities of the Accounting Department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, and annual audits and annual budgets. Complete integration of all accounting issues and services including accurate and timely franchise financial statements production, billing and account statement production and disclosure development. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance, monthly, quarterly and year-end closing including federal and state reports.
Assure income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the Company's value.
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, franchisees, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
Skills and Abilities Required:
Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, audit, income tax and banking knowledge.
Very computer friendly -- spreadsheet proficient (hardware and software).
SEC/Contractual negotiation a plus.
Strong managerial abilities.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Must have 10 years of hands-on managerial and cost accounting experience. CPA is a plus
