The successful person will work hands on with a well-established company with a national reputation in retirement and healthcare design, procurement and construction. Located in the heart of Columbia, this progressive firm has a lot to offer its employees as part of one of the leading firms in the Southeast. The Interior Design division, where this position is open, specializes in senior living and hospitality design, renovation and furniture procurement services. Responsibilities would include:
Creating purchase orders from furniture cost worksheets
Placing order directly with furniture manufacturers
Following order from initiation to receipt of merchandise
Obtaining furniture quotes
Problem solving when issues occur with orders or installations
Assisting with Managing budgets of jobs procured
Skill set perfect for this job would include:
Organized and detailed; enjoys a fast pace upbeat environment
Excellent communication skills ? both on the phone with vendors and with other staff members as well as written skills
Possess problem solving skills ? gets the job at hand done.
Quick study ? can process information quickly; takes initiative and shows resourcefulness
Excellent computer skills; proficiency in excel required.
College degree preferred by not required.
Minimum of two (2) years experience in a business environment required.
Furniture procurement experience requested but not required.
