POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a motivated employee to assist us in the design, development and finalization of products and in the procurement of goods and services at our Hillsboro, OR manufacturing facility.
Research and Development
Works directly with R&D Manager in the design, development and finalization of new product formulations while adhering to HACCP, Food Safety, Food Defense and Quality Assurance regulations and programs.
Assists with the ordering activities of raw ingredients as related to the research and development of products.
Reviews supplier ingredient specifications and nutritional information. Establishes, updates, amends and corrects corporate databases generating ingredient statements.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of GMPs and Allergen programs, HACCP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and Quality Assurance and other regulatory regulations and programs.
Purchasing
Reviews requisitions. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Prepares and issues purchase orders or bid requests.
Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of raw materials or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost. Prepares reports as requested such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Experience ? At least two years related work experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment and/or an equivalent combination of education in a related field (ex: science or business) and work experience.
Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, interpret and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers.
Computer skills: Ability to utilize computer programs such as Microsoft Office Word and Excel, company email, the Internet and the production module of the company?s accounting software in a network environment. Fundamental knowledge of perpetual inventory systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working in an office and manufacturing environment, this position will require extensive time sitting and viewing computer screens.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is seldom exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
Noise level on the manufacturing floor is usually moderate.
Pay: $20 per hour
