Accountant Job Opening in Honolulu, Hawaii - Join the largest locally owned and operated commercial waste management company in Hawaii. Honolulu Disposal Service is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our growing team. This position is responsible for general bookkeeping, the preparation of monthly reports and financial statements, and other billing, receivables, and payables duties as needed.
Essential Job Functions
Assist CFO and Controllers with preparing financial statements and monthly reports
Prepare ledger entries
Perform customer account reconciliations and provide revised statements as needed
Issue invoices to customers and update customer files with issued invoices
Ensure accuracy of pricing and billing information by reviewing and processing sales agreements
Post invoices by electronic data interchange
Keep track of transactions and to follow up on discrepancies between route logs and invoice amounts as well as manage additional charges billed to customers
Issue payments on a timely basis to vendors and process recurring payments
Verify and process expense reports
Reconcile vendor statements and manage account payable files
Maintain accounts payable records, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files and assists in monthly closings
Code and enter invoices into MAS 200 A/P System

Job Requirements
Organized, detail oriented and a team player
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
Demonstrable knowledge of the accounting process
Ability to work well in a team and meet deadlines
Strong computer technical skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel
Able to read, analyze, and create technical forms and financial reports
