Registered Dietitian Job Opening in Trinidad, Colorado - JOB SUMMARY: We currently have an opportunity for a full-time Registered Dietitian at Mt. San Rafael Hospital. We are seeking a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about improving the health of others. The position will manage the nutritional care of patients including screening, assessment, intervention, and education in an inpatient and outpatient setting. The dietitian will work directly with the Nutrition Services Supervisor to develop an individualized nutrition plan. This position requires excellent communication and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Completes a comprehensive nutritional assessment on each patient upon admission.
Prepares individualized meal plans that consider the needs of the patient including: medical, nutritional, age, etc.
Monitors status and takes appropriate actions.
Complete/update treatment plans and review with the individual patient.
Provide individual nutritional counseling for patients and family (as needed).
Provide nutrition education as appropriate for staff.
Provides nutrition counseling and education to patients and patient's caregivers in both an outpatient and inpatient setting. Assesses knowledge/ comprehension & expected compliance of nutrition provided.
Develops and revises nutrition education and nutrition material as needed or requested.
Coordinate therapeutic/medical dietary orders with the attending physician.
Provides updates on the nutritional status of each patient as requested.
Works collaboratively with the Nutrition Services Department.
Coordinate with the Nutrition Services Supervisor to ensure that special diet orders (food allergies, intolerances, medical nutrition therapies, etc) are ordered and implemented clearly.
Updates and applies professional knowledge reading pertinent literature, and continuing education programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required licenses: Registered Dietitian
2 years experience in a healthcare setting
Must be able to conceptualize and implement a master treatment plan with fully developed problems, objectives, and goals.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in dietetics or nutrition related field.
