Sr. Accountant - Sr. Financial Analyst Job Opening in Lewisville, Texas - JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Accountant - Senior Financial Analyst will be part of the Settlement Services accounting team. Settlement Services comprises the companys appraisal, title and close services. Xome provides our clients with dedicated closing teams and a single point of contact as well as numerous quality checks throughout the closing process.
This position is responsible for the reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts, the processing of assigned journal entries, completion of assigned tasks to facilitate periodic closing of the general ledger.
As the Sr. Accountant - Senior Financial Analyst , you will be principally focused on core accounting responsibilities and play an important support role for the entire Finance team, which includes Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Corporate Tax, Treasury and Financial Systems. The position will provide direct support to the Assistant Controller, Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer and indirect support to the rest of the Finance team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare / review monthly general ledger entries
Prepare / review assigned account reconciliations
Assist in the production monthly management reporting
Assist with monthly financial close process
Provide supporting documentation for audits
Assist in the design and implementation of process improvements throughout the Finance department
Assist in the development of process documentation
Assist the Assistant Controller, Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer on a range of projects, primarily involving financial data collation and analysis
FUNCTIONAL JOB COMPETENCIES
The successful candidate will have:
Strong analytical skills
Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy and ability to review self created work
Excellent computer skills, especially MS Excel (Pivots, Vlookups, complex formulas)
Comfortable performing ad-hoc research and analysis
Excellent oral and written communications skills and problem-solving skills
REQUIRED
3 to 5 years of directly related experience and training
BS/BA degree in Accounting from an accredited university is required
Public accounting experience is preferred
A CPA or MBA is preferred
Familiarity with standard accounting packages (e.g., Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
