Accountant Job Opening in McAllen, Texas - JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides support to upper level management and handling all accounting as required. Duties include preparing financial statements and analyzing reports, handling A/R and A/P and payroll. Other duties may also include clerical support such as answering and directing phone calls, greeting visitors, opening and distributing correspondence, filing and ordering office supplies. Knowledge of administrative procedures such as human resources management/payroll and coordinating resources including multitasking and time management.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Under direct/close supervision, performs a variety of basic and routine clerical, accounting & administrative duties. These may include but are not limited to:
Preparing and typing routine correspondence, form letters, memos, correspondence, minutes and reports.
Setting up and maintaining filing systems and basic databases as applicable; Gathers data and other necessary information.
Establishes, maintains and revises record keeping and filing systems, ensuring confidentiality of information.
Consistently is attentive to detail, record keeping and required paperwork inherent to the position.
Completing forms and reports as required by the various company offices and outside vendors and agencies.
Accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
Completing 941's, 940's, Sales Tax Report and all other financial reports required.
Posting on Quickbooks, accounts payable and account receivable.
Accepts and screens telephone calls and routes calls appropriately; promptly and graciously responds to calls and visitors and determines the urgency of the situation; suggests appropriate referrals or informs administration when the situation warrants immediate attention.
Tactfully handles difficult situations; contacts are handled professionally and consistently with courtesy. Establishes a cooperative working relationships with all team leaders and upper management while supporting them. Performs well under Pressure.
Distributing incoming mail and mailing time sensitive material-reports, check mail daily.
Maintaining calendar and daily schedules.
Maintaining inventory and preparing purchase orders and ordering.
Assisting with various basic personnel administrative functions as needed.
Month-end reporting requirements & auditing files.
Any and all other duties assigned by Upper Management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bi-Lingual (Spanish and English). Must Pass Background Check for Federal, State and County. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Great Organizational skills. Degree in Accounting preferred. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation and composition. Excellent oral and communication skills.
Proficient with: Quick Books, Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook,) Customer service skills, Good Verbal Communication Skills.
