Thrift Store Sales/Material Handler Job Opening in Stonington, Connecticut - TITLE : Thrift Store Sales/Material Handler

CLASSIFICATION : Non-Exempt, Part-time
REPORTS TO : Operations Manager
This part-time position, averaging 8 hours a week, includes weekend hours on Saturday and/or Sunday at the COMO Thrift shop, to assist with customer service and material handling responsibilities in the back room and sales floor of our busy Thrift shop. Highlights of Thrift Store Sales/Material Handler Essential Functions include:
Greet customers both in the back room and on the sales floor
Process donations and offer donation receipts
Maintain organization system in donation area of back room
Organize sales areas with newly priced items
Manage flow of markdown item on sales floor
Handle customer transactions at the register
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Strong organizational skills
Strong customer service skills
Able to lift 25 pounds
Ability to multi-task in a busy
Thrift Store setting
Education : High School diploma required.
Experience : Prior customer service experience desired. Please note the successful candidate must reside within 30 miles of the Community Center. In addition to these basic education and experience requirements, the following competencies and skills are necessary to perform this job successfully: Positive attitude Team player.
