Position: Senior Manager Systems Applications
Location : Alpharetta, GA
Description: The Senior Manager will work in the New Product Integration group for the DVN Software network and data security products. The role will involve product solution planning, design, staging, and installation, as well as functional, performance, and automation testing for the Dispersive Technologies Software Products. The manager will lead a team that will build and evaluate Dispersive networking infrastructure systems for potential and actual customer solutions.
Our ideal candidate will be an IT professional with extensive Linux experience, possess an advanced understanding of networking and security protocols, and have experience working within the product lifecycle process. They will be self-driven with excellent debugging, critical thinking, and analysis skills. We need people who are fast learners and can apply that knowledge.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate Product features, understand Customer use case scenarios, and develop customer solutions
Define and execute Proof of Concept setups and configurations
Define and participate in system design discussions
Analyze Proof of Concept results and provide to development team
Participate in technical reviews with development and product management teams
Trial planning, coordination, staging, deployment, consultation, support, and results collection
Work with the product development organization to gain knowledge and drive enhancements to evaluate potential customer solutions
Work cross-functionally with Sales Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Operations to plan, stage and evaluate customer trial and production systems
Create scripts to aid in appliance installs and setup
Participate in configuration audits and process development or improvement efforts
Required Technical Skills
Experience managing a small team (minimum of 3 years)
Significant understanding of Linux Operating System architecture (minimum of 5 years of experience operating Linux platforms)
In depth hands on UNIX/Linux system administration skills and setting up Linux networking (minimum of 5 years)
Experience with security, networking, encryption and firewalls and related products (minimum of 3 years)
Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience with L2/L3 Switching/Routing, IPv4, TCP/UDP, L4-L7 , private network configuration, and firewalls
In-depth understanding of protocol and network analyzers and tools
In-depth understanding of SSH, HTTP/S, DHCP, and DNS protocols
Experience using Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, and IOS based platforms for multiple networking configurations and applications
Clear understanding of the software development process and lifecycle
Strong scripting skills (Python, Perl, Shell preferred)
Knowledge of cloud computing, virtual machines, and IoT
In-depth understanding of protocol and network analyzers and tools
Required skills :
Ability to create technical and business documentation
Must be self-driven and able to collaborate with x-functional teams
Deadline and detail oriented
Must have experience working in highly technical, mission-critical environment. Operations background a plus.
Must be able to plan, execute, and complete projects in a timely manner
Must have an analytical mind and excellent problem solving skills that can apply your knowledge to solve issues in innovative ways
Highly motivated and able to drive initiatives cross functionally
Desired Skills/Education:
Bachelors/Masters in a technical field (CS/EE preferred)
A development background is helpful, but not required
