IT Project Manager Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - First Advantage is currently seeking an IT Project Manager. The IT Portfolio & Project Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of cross-functional and cross-enterprise IT-related projects and coordinating the managers accountable for each project. The role will also be accountable for managing a subset of projects directly, including tool, process, and training-related projects.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Analyzing project and initiative requirements, determining effort, fit, and feasibility
Designing and planning projects and initiatives, coordinating with sponsors and SMEs, guiding Project Managers to maximize success
Mapping out and planning the portfolio of projects across IT (and coordinating with other areas such as App Dev), so as to maximize project synergies, ensure appropriate resource allocations, avoiding collisions and staff burnout
Tracking the progress of all projects and initiatives in the portfolio, ensuring an up-to-date view of project status is readily available
Managing individual projects assigned to this role
Generating reports and speaking to progress of the portfolio and individual projects
Improving the Project Management process, as well as feeder processes (e.g., Production Assurance, SDLC, etc.)
Education
Bachelor?s degree in an IT or business field or equivalent work experience
Balanced Scorecard certification a plus- BSP or BSMP
6 Sigma or Lean certification (yellow or green belt) preferred
ITIL Foundations certification preferred
Experience
Four to eight years of directly related project management experience
Four to eight years of directly related IT experience
At least two years managing a portfolio of projects, preferably IT and / or related
Jira and Service Now experience
Expert in Excel, especially pivot tables, slicers, charts, and analytics
Other data analytic tools (Qlik, Tableau, etc.) a plus
Waterfall, Agile or other forms of iterative software development
IT processes, such as ITIL
Managing a variety of projects, including systems deployment, software development, process implementations, and training / skill initiatives
Managing multiple projects or large project with complex inter-dependencies
Flexibility in work hours in order to effectively communicate with NOAM, EMEA, and India / APAC resources in various time zones
Conceptual understanding of current technologies, methodologies, and IT processes to plan and communicate effectively with project team and sponsors
Experience developing and managing project budgets
Solid understanding of development processes, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies and deployment management
Understanding of business or technical process changes, implementations and deployments
Additional Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of communication, status reporting and project management tools to create project documents and reports
Excellent English, including strong verbal, written and presentation skills including the ability to present complex technical material to non-IT business users and senior managers
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
Strong relationship building skills
Strong negotiation skills
Proven ability to establish and meet milestones and deadlines
Proven ability to lead project owners within the portfolio of projects to establish and meet their milestones and deadlines
Excellent project management skills and qualifications, including PMP certification and MS Project expertise
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $110,000.00 /year
