Senior Data Engineer Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - As a Senior Data Engineer you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data platform and massive data stores on which our data applications and tools run on.
Main Responsibilities:
Work with data owners and data suppliers to understand the types of data collected in various databases and data warehouses and define the strategies to bring these data into a centralized data repository
Design, build, and maintain cross-platform ETL processes and maintain data dictionaries
Design, build, and maintain data pipes (both structured and unstructured) that are fault-tolerant and scalable
Design, build, and maintain optimized data models used by dependent applications
Develop guidelines, standards, and processes to ensure the highest data quality and integrity in the data stores residing on the data repository
Work closely with data scientists and product managers to understand their data requirements for existing and future projects on end applications

Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or other relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of data management experience
3+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining large scale data systems and solutions
3+ years of experience in database schema design, developing ETL processes, and writing complex data queries
Hands-on experience in managing both structured and unstructured databases
Additional Qualifications:
Masters or PhD degrees in computer science, IT, engineering or relevant fields
Certification in Hadoop and other big data tools and technologies
Experience with open source data processing frameworks
Experience with Agile software development methodology
