Tax/Staff Accountant Job Opening in Seattle, Washington - We are seeking an accounting professional for a Tax/Staff Accountant position for a growing CPA firm. The ideal candidate will have an Accounting degree, CPA license, at least three years of tax accounting and compilation experience, and advanced Excel skills. There is flexibility for part-time, off-season hours for candidates who seek this flexibility.
Responsibilities of Tax/Staff Accountant
Perform personal tax interviews and prepare individual and business returns and quickly establish a comfortable rapport with clients
Demonstrate passion in helping clients understand the complexities of the tax system and their associated responsibilities
Successfully manage new and existing client relationships with an emphasis on delivering outstanding client service such that a long-term foundation of goodwill is established and maintained
Mentor and consult with new business owners ? assist individuals with the responsibilities of starting a new business
Lead activities, conduct training, and provide technical advice to our bookkeeping and payroll staff
Identify and resolve complex accounting issues/problems
Maintain awareness of changing federal, state, and local regulations and identify any potential compliance issues with our client base
Background of Tax/Staff Accountant
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance
MUST have current CPA license or be able to reinstate license prior to January 2018
3+ years practical industry experience preparing and reviewing income tax returns for individuals and small to mid-size organizations
Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and MS Excel
Financial statement compilation experience
Proficiency with federal and state payroll and payroll tax reporting
WA state and local excise and B&O tax reporting
Affinity for business development and networking
Available to work at least minimally extended hours during tax season
