Sr. Software Project Engineer Job Opening in Grand Rapids, Michigan - GreenFoot Technologies is searching for a Sr. Software Project Engineer in the Grand Rapids, MI area for one of our select clients. Our client provides integrated material handling solutions that incorporate process improvements, material flow technologies, and software to reduce operational costs and optimize supply chain performance. Our client has proven to be a competent single source supplier that engineers, manufactures, and develops core material handling technologies required to operate effective logistic solutions.
Specific Requirements
Leading and mentoring software engineers in application quality testing and integration of new systems
Developing software design and functional specifications
Provide technical leadership to software engineering team by directing and tracking team activities, while managing tasks and project schedule
Implement project customizations and configurations, and propose software modification to adapt to business change
Good problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Able to work on site to install, commission, and test installation of material handling solution l For senior levels; knowledge of software/hardware setup.
Successful candidates will have required knowledge in the following skill sets:
Junior level: experience with Java (Java 7 or J2E 6) and application development methodology and practice
Senior level; solid, advanced skills with Java (Java 7 or J2E 6) and application development methodology and practice
Database Design and Programming (Oracle, SQL, Microsoft SQL)
Web Programming: HTML, JavaScript Desired Skills and Experience
It's a plus if you have experience with any of the following:
Web servers (Tomcat, etc.)
Familiarity with version control (SVN)
Object oriented concepts
Virtualization (VMWare, etc.)
Maven
Active MQ
Jira
Glassfish or Eclipse

Additional Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
8-10yrs;of software development experience
Willingness to travel 20% - 40%
